Covered an old riser successfully
"I have a 21" riser on an old septic system. Previous cast iron lid rusted out. Dug out and levelled the dirt around the top of the riser. Placed this over it and backfilled the edges with dirt. Fits like a charm and looks relatively nice in the lawn. I know this was designed for use in a driveway, but this works great with my riding mower rolling over it. One note that I missed in the literature, just in case any other amateurs/homeowners like me are buying one of these. You need a 5/16" allyn wrench to lock/unlock the lid."

Q&A
- When I have my septic tank pumped out I have to dig and remove a concrete lid. Can the manhole cover be used for access to septic tank for cleaning? If so, does it have a seal for the sewer gas smell.
- Yes, it definitely can be used for that. There is also an O-ring where you can place a gasket for tight seals. Thank you - should note just make sure to obviously double check the size of your lid, to make sure its compatible. Thank you
- I see a recessed groove on the bottom, is this for another ring? I might be interested in buying one of those o-rings if they exist.
- That is a U lock for water proofing, if you wish to add a gasket you can, but we do not offer them here. Thank you very much for your question!
